Guru Gopinath Natanagramam

The Guru Gopinath Natanagramam (the Guru Gopinath Dance Village) is an institute for art established in 1995 to keep alive the memory of Guru Gopinath. Founded in the name of the great artist, Guru Gopinath, the objective is to bring music, dance and instrumental music under one roof and provide the best training.

Located at Vattiyoorkavu in Thiruvananthapuram, the Natanagramam functions under the Department of Culture, Government of Kerala.

The main activities of the Natanagramam are to propagate importantly the dance styles of Kerala. The Natanagramam conducts dance festivals, monthly dance programmes, presentation of other traditional dance forms, workshops on Kerala dance forms, seminars, discussions on classical music, instrumental music, Ottam Thullal and their training.

The Guru Gopinath Natanagramam has one of the best dance troupes for Kerala Nadanam, Bharathanatyam and Mohiniyattom.


The Natanagramam also has a national dance museum housing all details of dance forms of Kerala, India and the world.

Yet another attraction here is the open air auditorium and amphi theatre.
