Annual Festival of Seetha Lava Kusha Temple

Date:01-01-2019 to 07-01-2019

Seetha Lava Kusha Temple is one of the famous temples in Kerala dedicated to Goddess Seetha. Located amidst the verdant and lush greenery the temple is situated at Pulpally in Wayanad. Even though the temple is dedicated to Seetha, the temple has Lava and Kusha as sub-deities and is the only temple dedicated to the sons of Lord Rama.

It is believed that the legendary ruler Pazhassi Raja constructed this temple. The annual festival of the temple is celebrated from 17-23 of the Malayalam month of Dhanu (January).

The myth says that Seetha Devi stayed here during her exile at Valmiki’s Ashram (hermitage).
