Thrissilery Mahadeva Temple Festival

Date:03-04-2019 to 05-04-2019

Thrissilery Mahadeva Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and it is intrinsically linked with the Vishnu temple at Thirunelli. It is believed that the performance of rituals for the ancestors at Thirunelli Maha Vishnu temple will not be complete without an offering at Thrissilery Temple.

The annual three-day festival of Thrissilery Mahadeva Temple is celebrated on the Malayalam month of Meenam (March -April) on Pururutathy, Uthrattathi and Revathy asterisms.

A small shrine of Jala Durga is situated in water which is believed to be flowing from Papanashini near Thirunelli. The water never dries up and legends say that the shrine was installed by Lord Parasurama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
