Puttingal Bharani Festival

Puttingal Devi Temple, located near the backwater destination of Paravur in Kollam, has Mother Goddess as its main deity. The main festival of this temple is celebrated on the day of Bharani star in the Malayalam month of Meenam (March-April).

During festival days rituals like Aswathy Vilakku and cultural programmes like Kathakali, Kampadikali and Marameduppu are performed in the temple premises.

Another important festival takes place is the Thottampattu, which is held as an offering to Goddess will last for 21 days. It is celebrated in the Malayalam month of Vrischikam (November-December).
