Kanichukulangara Utsavam

Kanichukulangara Devi Temple, located in the village of Kanichukulangara in Alappuzha, is famous for the twenty-one-day festival which usually falls on February - March. The 21- day festival of this temple starts with Kodiyettam on the Bharani asterism of the Malayalam month Kumbham and it ends on Thiruvonam day with an arattu. Many rituals and sacred offerings like Kumbakudam and Thalapoli are done as part of the festival. A sacred festival named Mura oath is conducted once in every 12 years.
