Kadalundi Vavutsavam

Pediyattu Kavu, dedicated to Goddess Durga, is located at Kadalundi in Kozhikode. This temple is noted for the unique festival Vavutsavam, popularly known as Kadalundi Vavutsavam. The festival falls on Karutha Vavu (new moon) day of the Malayalam month of Thulam (October- November).
The festival begins with the procession of Pediyattamma (Goddess of Pediyattu Kavu) and her son Jathavan, Jathavan Purappad. On the day of the Vavu Jathavan will meet his mother on the beach from where both the deities will be taken in a procession back to the temple.
