Sivaratri

Sree Kanjilassery Shiva Temple, one of the Lord Shiva temples in Kerala, is located in Kozhikode. It is believed that the temple has been consecrated by Sage Kasyapa. The major festival celebrated here is the Sivaratri in the Malayalam month of Kumbham (February – March) which last for eight days. The Sayanapradakshina done by the elderly and children alike on the evening of Sivaratri is something unique to this temple.
Navarathri, Thirvathira and Pratishta are the other festivals celebrated here.
