Nelluvai Vaikunda Ekadasi

Sree Dhanwanthari Temple at Nelluvai is one of the ancient temples dedicated to Lord Dhanwanthari (a form of Lord Vishnu). The major festival celebrated here is the Vaikunda Ekadasi or Swargavathil Ekadasi in the Malayalam month of Dhanu (Mid-December to- Mid-January). During this festival devotes offer Niramala (flower garlands) to the God.

The deity Dhanvanthari worshipped at Nelluvai Temple is believed to be the God of Ayurveda. The temple is known for its Oushada Prasada (prasada with Ayuvedic medicinal values) and is the offering is known as Mukkudi

Oushadaseva, held during the Malayalam month of Karikidam (Mid-June to Mid-July) is very auspicious.
