Pazhoor Arattu Festival

Pazhoor Sree Mahavishnu Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is one of the temples situated in Wayanad. The temple celebrates the annual seven-day arattu festival on the Thiruvonam asterism in the Malayalam month of Makaram (January-February). 

Once the Arattu (holy bath) ritual completes in the morning, the Vellattam (invocation ritual) will be held prior to the Theyyam performance. The various theyyams performed at Pazhoor temple are Kaitholan, Karinchathan, Karuvan, Chanthadi Kariyathan and Gulikan

The temple also celebrates Sree Krishna Jayanti, in the Malayalam month of Chingam (August-September), Vinayaka Chathurthi and Thulam Puthari (the offering of the new harvest to the deity by farmers) during the Malayalam month of Thulam (October-November).
