Worshipped as the sister Goddess of Azhazkodi Devi, Thazhathumkavu Sree Bhagavathy Temple has about a history of more than 1800 years old. Both, Thazhathumkavu Bhagavathy Temple and Azhakodi Devi Temple are constructed in such a way that both these Goddess are facing each other.
The annual three day festival of this temple is celebrated in the Malayalam month of Meenam. The festival witnesses various rituals like Vellattu performance on the first two days. Kulavan, Karivilli, Kuttichathan, Nagakkali, Gulikan and Bhagavathy vellattu are performed here. The last day night there will be the Thalapoli procession from Azhakodi Devi Temple. Once thalapoli procession reaches the temple, Kanalattam performance begins. The festival comes to an end with the ‘guruthi’ ritual.
