One of the temples dedicated to Lord Krishna, the deity of Trichambaram Sree Krishna Temple is in Raudra Bhavam (ferocious posture) after the Kamsavadham - killing of the demon king Kamsan. The annual festival of the temple falls in the Malayalam months of Kumbham and Meenam  (March) and it lasts for fourteen days.

The festival begins, on Kumbham 22nd with the ceremonial flag hoisting (kodiyettam) and comes to end with Koodipirial ritual on 6th Meenam. On the first day, the image of Lord Balarama (elder brother of Lord Krishna) is brought to the temple in a grand procession from nearby Dharmakulam temple. The festivals days are marked by the performance of the religious dance, Thidampu nritham in front of Pookoth Nada in the temple.

The thirteenth day, Pallivetta (holy hunt ceremony) takes place and the next day the ceremonial bath (aarattu) takes place. Finally, the heart touching Koottipiriyal ceremony happens, which represents the parting of the brothers Lord Krishna and Balarama. Peruvazhiyil Nritham is another religious dance takes place during the time of parting.

 The temple is situated 20 km away from Kannur, near Thaliparamba town on the National Highway.
