Thiruvanchikulam Mahadeva Temple, situated near Kodungalloor in Thrissur district, is a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. The presiding deity of this temple is also the family deity of Perumpadapu Swaroopam (Cochin Royal Family) who took over the kingdom after the decline of the Chera Kingdom.
The most important festival of this temple is the Vaisakhi Brahmotsavam, which falls on the Tamil Month of Vaikashi (May-June).
The temple also celebrates Shivaratri.
The temple is a protected monument of Archaeological Survey of India as it boasts a large collection of mural arts. The temple is also included in Muziris Heritage Project. It is one of the rare temples in Kerala, where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi is installed in the same Sreekovil (Sanctum Sanatorium) along with thirty-three sub deities outside the temple.
