Valiya Arattu

Sree Kachanam Kulam Thirupuraikkal Bhagavathy Temple is one of the popular temples in Kerala dedicated to Goddess Kannaki. The annual Valiya Aarattu festival of this temple begins on the Revathy asterism and ends on the Punartham asterism in the Malayalam month of Medam (April – May).
Celebrated for seven days, the last three days showcases a grand celebrated with the presence of caparisoned elephants.
The temple also known by the names Thirupuraikkal Temple, Kannaki Amman Temple and Vadakkanthara Bhagavathy Temple is the only temple in Kerala where Goddess Kannaki is worshiped in her full idol form.
