Varakkal Navarathri Festival

One among the 108 Durga temples established by Lord Parasurama, Sree Varakkal Durga Devi Temple is situated on a hilltop with 28 steps near West hill railway station in Kozhikode. The major festival celebrates here is the Navarathri festival. During the festival, devotees will be blessed by Velichapadu or Komaram (oracles).
Another famous ritual held at this temple is Vavu Bali, devotees gather in large numbers for Thulam Vavu for performing Bali Tharpanam.
