Sree Madanantheswara Sidhivinayaka Temple, also known as Madhur Temple, is located in the northern district of Kasaragod. The temple with its three-tiered dome, copper-plated roofing and a cloistered court, stands majestically against the beautiful landscape of the Madhuvahini River.Though the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva as Srimad Anantheswara, the endearing elephant-headed Lord Ganesha, the son of Siva and Parvathy, enjoys the prime place at Madhur Temple.
Ganesh Chaturthi (Vinayaka Chathurthi) and annual Madhur Bedi are the major festivals celebrated here. Madhur Bedi is a five-day festival an on the fourth day, the deity will be taken out for procession.
Vishu Sankramotsavam and Sivarathri are the other festivals celebrated here. During festivals days, the temple premises will witness the presentation of various folk art forms like Yakshagana and others.
Madhur Vinayaka Temple is famous for a very special offering known as Moodappam Seva in which the deity will be covered with Appam (another offering to Lord Ganesha).
