Vrischikam Festival

Pambumekkattu Mana, located at Mala in Thrissur, is one of the famous temples dedicated to Serpent Gods in Kerala. The temple celebrates many a festival and the most important is on 1st of Malayalam month of Vrischikam (Mid-November). Celebrated as the festival of Serpent Gods, special rituals like noorum paalum will be conducted for pleasing the snake gods.  

During Mandala Season, Sarpabali and Kalamezhuthum Pattum will be conducted as a special offering to the gods for 41 days. 

Ayilyam festival falls on the Ayilyam asterism in the Malayalam month of Kanni (September – October). Next year the ayilyam festival is on 5 October 2018. 

The temple also celebrates an eight-day festival which starts from Thiruvonam asterism and ends on Bharani asterism in the Malayalam month of Meenam (March- April).
