An idophonic instrument kuzhithalam though similar to ilathalam in shape, it is smaller in size. Flat copper/brass plates round in shape are connected together by a string through holes in the middle. Used in nagaswaram, Chakyarkoothu, Bhajana and Ottanthullal along with other dance instruments for talas.
