Beef Varattiyathu

Beef cut into medium pieces – ½ Kg
Sliced shallots – 1 cup
Sliced ginger and garlic – 2 tsp each
Chili powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Pepper powder – 1 tsp
Masala powder – 1 tsp
Coconut bits (sliced in thin 1 inch length) – ½ cup
Oil – ¼ cup
Curry leaves – as required
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Salt – as required
Method of Preparation:
Cook beef in a pressure cooker along with required amount of water, salt, pepper powder and turmeric powder. Allow water to reduce completely. In a pan, add ¼ cup of oil. To this add curry leaves, shallots, ginger, garlic and coconut bits. Sauté till the coconut bits turns brown. Add cooked beef along with salt and dry curry powder (turmeric, pepper, masala, chili, coriander). Sprinkle some water on it. Close the lid and cook for another 5 minutes. Sauté well. Tasty beef roast is ready.
