Pavakka Kichadi

Bitter guard (cut into thin round pieces) – 2 cups
Big Chili (Thondan mulaku) – 5 nos
Grated coconut – 1 cup
Shallots – 5 nos
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Dry red Chilies – 4 nos
Salt – as required
Oil –as required
Curry leaves – as required
Set curd – 1 cup
Method of Preparation:
Marinate bitter guard pieces in salt for half an hour and then fry it. Grind well – coconut, chilies, cumin seeds, shallots and curry leaves. In a pan add oil, splutter mustard seeds, dried red chilies and curry leaves. To this add fried bitter guard and sauté well. Remove it from the stove and allow it to cool. To this add curd and mix well.
(Note: Ladies Finger/ Okra can also be prepared in the same way in place of bitter guard)
