Channa dal – 2 cups
Sugar – 2 cups
Maida – 1 ½ cups
Cardamom powder– ½ tsp
Gingelly oil – ½ cup
Ghee – as required
Kesar powder – one pinch

Method of Preparation:

Cook channa dal in water (it should not be completely covered in water). Strain it. Cook with water again. To this add cardamom powder and sugar. Mix it well and grind it in a mixer. In a bowl, mix kesar powder and water. Add this to maida. Make smooth dough by adding gingelly oil little by little. Make small balls of both maida dough and channa dough. Place channa dough ball inside the maida dough and flatten it to a thin sheet using the roller pin. Fry it in ghee (shallow fry) on both sides. Tasty boli is ready.
