Cauliflower Thoran


Cauliflower cut into small petals – 2 cups
Chopped onions – 1 cup
Chopped green chilies – 5 nos
Chopped ginger and garlic – 2 tsp each
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Grated coconut – 1 ½ cup
Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Channa dal – 1 tsp
Dried red chilies – 4 nos
Curry leaves – as required
Salt – as required
Oil – as required

Method of Preparation:

In a pan add oil, splutter mustard seeds, urad dal and channa dal. Add dried red chilies and curry leaves. To this add onion, green chilies, ginger and garlic. Now add cauliflower and sauté well. Add turmeric, garam masala powder and required amount of water. Let the mixture cook. Add coarsely ground coconut, cumin seeds, curry leaves. Let it cook for 5 minutes. Sauté till the water reduces completely.
