Chembu Piralan


Skinless colocasia diced – 2 cups
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Chili powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
Chicken masala powder – 1 tsp
Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Ginger and garlic – ½ tsp each
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – as required
Salt – as required
Oil – as required

Method of Preparation:

Cook colocasia with salt, turmeric powder and chili powder. In a pan, add oil and splutter mustard seeds and fennel seeds. Add urad dal, curry leaves . Add the cooked colocasia into it. Add cumin seeds, masala, and coriander powder and mix well. Cook on low flame. When the masala gets mixed with the colocasia, remove it from the flame.
