Crab Curry

Cleaned crab – 1 Kg (cut)
Shallots – 15 nos
Green chilly slits – 6 nos
Tomato cut into four – 2 nos
Malabar Tamarind/Kudampuli – 4 big pieces
Chili powder – 1 ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Shallots – 5 nos
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Thick coconut  milk – 1 cup
Thin coconut  milk – 1 ½ cup
Coconut oil – 3 tsp
Fenugreek powder – ¼ tsp
Ginger-garlic chopped – 1 tsp each
Dried red chilies – 3 nos
Method of Preparation:
In a clay pot, add coconut oil. Splutter mustard seeds. Add shallots, curry leaves and dried red chilies. Now add ginger, green chilies and garlic. Sauté it well along with shallots. To this add cleaned crab, salt, chili powder and coriander powder. Sauté again. To this add required salt and thin coconut milk. Cook the curry. To this add kudampuli. When the pieces get cooked, add tomato and cook for another 3 minutes. In the end, add thick coconut milk. Remove from the flame before it boils after adding fenugreek powder and 2 tsp of coconut oil. Tasty crab curry is ready.
