Crab Roast


Cleaned crab – 1 Kg
Shallots cut into two – 1 cup
Chopped onion – 1 cup
Chopped tomato – ½ cup
Chopped ginger-garlic – 2 tsp each
Chopped green chilies – 6 nos
Chili powder – 2 tsp
Coriander powder – 3 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Crushed pepper – ½ tsp
Curry leaves - as required
Tomato cut into four – 2 nos
Salt - as required
Water - as required
Coconut oil - as required
Coconut bits - ½ cup

Method of Preparation:

Cook cleaned crab with salt, turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder, pepper powder and required amount of water. Remove from the flame when the water reduces completely. In a pan, add 4 tsp of coconut oil. Add onions, shallots, green chilies, ginger and garlic and sauté well. Now add curry leaves and coconut bits. Sauté again. Add tomatoes, salt, cooked crab and mix well till the gravy and the crab is well cooked.
