Dates Pickle


Dates – ½ Kg
Green chilies slit into two – 6 nos.
Chopped garlic – 2 tsp
Chili powder – 3 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Dates – 10 nos
Asafoetida – 1 tsp
Salt – as required
Gingelly oil – ¼ cup
Curry leaves – as required

Method of Preparation:

Marinate cleaned dates with salt for one hour. In a pan add gingelly oil. Sauté ginger, garlic, green chilies, curry leaves and seed removed dates in it. To this add vinegar mixture (Vinegar and dry curry powder – Chili, Turmeric, Asafoetida). Add salt and mix well.
