Idichu Pizhinja Payasam


Raw rice – 1 cup
Jaggery – ¼ Kg
Sugar – 4 tbsp
Water – 5 cups
Coconut milk – 2 cups
Ghee – 2 tsp
Cumin roasted and powdered – ½ tsp
Dry ginger powder – 1 tsp
Cardamom powder – ½ tsp

Method of Preparation:

Cook raw rice in water. When the water reduces, add strained jaggery syrup and sugar. Mix well. Close the lid and cook. Do not burn it. Add coconut and ghee to it. Close the lid and cook. Add the remaining ghee, cumin powder, dry ginger powder and cardamom powder. Mix well and serve.
