Kaya Mezhukkupuratti


Raw plantain – 4 nos (cut into small pieces)
Chopped green chilies – ¼ cup
Chili powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Salt – as required
Oil – as required
Asafoetida – ½ tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – as required

Method of Preparation:

Marinate plantain pieces with salt and dry powders (chili, turmeric, asafoetida) for half an hour. In a pan add 3 tsp of oil and splutter mustard seeds and urad dal. Add dried red chilies and curry leaves. Now add marinated raw plantain. Close the lid of the pan and let it cook. Sauté well.
