Kozhukatta

Ingredients:

Raw rice (Pachari) soaked 2 hours in water and strained – 2 cups
Grated coconut – 1 cup
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Salt – as required
Oil – as required

Method of Preparation:

In a thick bottomed bowl, add 4 cups of water, salt and 2 tsp oil. Add rice powder (grind the strained raw rice into powder) to this. Mix it. Add ground mix of coconut and cumin seeds to it. Knead it to soft dough. Let it cool. Spread oil on your hands. Roll it into small rounds (gooseberry sized). Steam it. Serve with chammandi.
