Netholi Fish Curry


Cleaned anchovy – ½ Kg
Sliced shallots – ½ cup
Chili powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Fenugreek powder – ¼ tsp
Green chilly slits – 5 nos
Crushed ginger-garlic – 2 tsp
Grated coconut – 1 ½ cup
Curry leaves - as required
Sliced raw mango – ½ cup
Coconut oil - as required
Salt - as required
Tomato cut into four – 2 nos

Method of Preparation:

Grind coconut, chili powder and turmeric powder to make a fine paste. In a clay pot, mix anchovy, ground mixture, ginger, garlic, green chilies, raw mango, curry leaves along with required amount of water. Cook it well. The gravy should be of thin consistency. Add fenugreek powder and 2-3 tsp of coconut oil, after the fish gets cooked – remove from the flame.
