Kerala Culture



Grated coconut – 1 ½ cup
Chili powder – ½ tsp
Tamarind – lemon sized
Shallots – 4 nos
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – as required
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Fenugreek – ½ tsp
Dried red chilies – 3 nos
Curry leaves – as required
Salt – as required
Oil – as required

Method of Preparation:

Grind well coconut, chili powder along with shallots, cumin seeds and curry leaves. Add required amount of water and make it into a thin consistency. Add salt and tamarind pulp (pulp from soaked tamarind) to it. In a pan, splutter mustards seeds. Add dried red chilies and curry leaves. Add the above mixture and let it boil.
