Prawns with Raw Mango curry


Cleaned prawns – ½ Kg
Shallots cut in round – ½ cup
Green chilly slits – 4 nos
Chopped raw mango – 1 cup
Chopped ginger – 2 tsp
Grated coconut – 1 ½ cup
Chili powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Curry leaves - as required
Fenugreek – ¼ tsp
Coconut oil – 4 tsp

Method of Preparation:

Place a flat-bottomed pan (clay pot) on flame. Add 3 tsp of coconut oil to it. Add ¼ tsp of fenugreek and splutter. To this add shallots, green chili, ginger and curry leaves. Sauté well. Now add turmeric powder, chili powder and sauté again. Grind coconut well. In the above mixture, add cleaned prawns and raw mango along with required amount of water and salt. Close the lid and cook. Let the gravy thicken. Now add the ground coconut mixed in water to the clay pot. Let the gravy boil. Add required amount of salt, curry leaves and 2 tsp of coconut oil. Mix well and remove from the flame. Tasty prawns curry is ready.
