Puli Inchi

Ingredients:

Chopped ginger – 1 cup
Tamarind – lemon sized
Chopped garlic pods – 10 nos
Chopped shallots – 12 nos
Chopped green chilies – 6 nos
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Chili powder – ½ tsp
Fenugreek – ½ tsp
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Raw rice – 1 tsp
Jaggery – 1 piece
Salt – as required
Oil – as required

Method of Preparation:

In a pan, add oil and splutter mustard seeds. Add curry leaves, ginger, shallots, garlic, green chilies and sauté well. Add tamarind water and dry curry powders (turmeric, chili) to it along with required amount of salt and jaggery. Let it boil. Roast fenugreek and raw rice in some oil and powder it. Add this to the puli inchi and mix well.
