Kappa Puzhukku


Cooked tapioca (cooked and water removed) – 1 Kg
Pepper – 1 tsp
Garlic – 6 pods
Chili powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – as required
Grated coconut – 1 cup
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Dried red chilies – 4 nos
Salt – as required
Coconut oil – as required

Method of Preparation:

Coarsely grind coconut, turmeric powder, chili powder, garlic, cumin seeds, pepper and curry leaves. Add this mix to the cooked tapioca along with required amount of water and salt. Let it boil. Now mash the tapioca. It should be of thin consistency. In a hot pan add oil and splutter mustard seeds and urad dal. Add dried red chilies and curry leaves. Add this to tapioca mixture and mix well.
