Kerala Culture



Dosa batter – 1 cup
Chopped onion – ¼ cup
Chopped tomatoes – 2 tbsp
Grated coconut - 3 tsp
Chopped green chilies – 1 tsp
Coriander leaves – 1 tsp
Chopped curry leaves – 1 tsp
Oil - as required

Method of Preparation:

Keep a dosa pan on flame. Pour a spoon of batter in the pan and spread it in round shape. Now in a bowl, mix the chopped vegetables (onions, tomatoes, green chilies, coriander leaves, curry leaves) and fill the mixture in the center of the dosa. Dosa batter should be wet when we place the vegetables. Keep it on low flame, close the lid and cook carefully, flip sides and cook both the sides well. Variety of uthappam can be made with powdered paneer, grated cheese etc. Chutney is a good side dish for this.
